Thirsty for Ukraine. Slobozhansk counteroffensive in the photos of Serhiy Korovainyi
On September 6, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in Kharkiv region. Already on September 8, the Ukrainian military liberated twenty settlements, including Balakliya, Kupyansk and Izyum. In the second half of September, the Armed Forces broke through the Russian front line along the Oskil River and crossed to its left bank.

The war for light. The aftermath of the attack on Kharkiv CHPP-5 in the photos of Konstantin and Vlada Liberov
On September 11, 2022, the Russian military struck the CHP-5 in Kharkiv and two sites near the city. This led to the temporary disappearance of power supply in several areas at once. Two Ukrenergo employees were killed at Kharkiv CHP-5 that evening. Photographers Konstantin and Vlad Liberova were in Kharov and filmed the effects of shelling on the city's power system.

Ribbons and inscriptions. The “parade” of destroyed Russian equipment on Independence Day in the photographs of Yevhen Malolietka
The celebration of the 31st anniversary of the restoration of Independence of Ukraine took place against the background of a full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war. Due to the threat of missile strikes, all mass events were canceled. Instead, destroyed Russian military equipment was displayed in the center of Kyiv on Khreshchatyk. Photographer Yevgeny Maloletka filmed a “parade” of rusty Russian tanks and battered combat vehicles.

A city that wakes up from explosions. The consequences of the shelling of Mykolaiv in the photos of Serhiy Korovainyi
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Mykolaiv has become one of the hottest spots in the Ukrainian south. Residents of Nikolaev wake up from explosions almost every day. In the evening, missile attacks also continue. In 2019, Mykolaiv chose for itself the slogan “City on the wave”. During the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, Mykolaiv became a city that does not sleep.

Debris, flowers, and extreme fatigue. Consequences of the missile attack on Vinnytsia in the photos of Roman Pylypiy
On the afternoon of July 14, 2022, the Russian military struck Kalibr missiles in the center of Vinnytsia. As a result of the shelling, 29 people were killed, including children. July 15 in Vinnytsia and the region was declared a day of mourning for the dead.

Molten metal and birds in the sky. The aftermath of the attack on Kremenchuk in the photos of Yevhen Zavhorodnyi
On June 27, 2022, Russian troops struck missiles on Kremenchuk, Poltava region. One of them hit the largest shopping center of the city — Amstor. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, this is the largest tragedy in Poltava region in terms of the number of casualties — 22 people were killed and more than a hundred were injured. Photographer Yevhenii Zavgorodny went to the scene and filmed the aftermath of the rocket attack on Kremenchuk.

Microgrant and Mentorship Program to Support Ukrainian Photographers
The program includes four mentorship courses and a final competition for participants. After that, we will provide financial support of €8,000 to Ukrainian photographers who create projects related to the theme of war. First and foremost, we will support authors who do not have regular access to equipment and resources, giving them additional opportunities to continue their work.

"SMS from Mariupol"
The Ukrainian Atelier of Culture and Sports, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP) and the Innovation Fund in Arts of the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts of Baden-Württemberg, presented a series of exhibition projects that served as a photo diary from occupied Mariupol. These projects were exhibited in Stuttgart and Dresden, Germany.

The photobook "Independent. The Story of Modern Ukraine in the Photographs of the Best Documentarians."
The photobook, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, was published with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Book Institute. It contains more than 140 unique documentary photographs from over 60 Ukrainian photographers, arranged chronologically from the proclamation of Ukraine's independence to the present day.

Manipulations in the media can occur even without the pressure of censors. The flow of images is everywhere; it defines trends and tastes and influences changes in political regimes. The media constructs reality and has the power to shape the course of history.

Drones are flying over the city, and Russians are 2.5 kilometers away. Kupiansk in the lens of Ivan Samoilov
Kupiansk, once known as an important trade hub, has today become a symbol of resistance and destruction. Historically, the city was closely linked to trade, a connection reflected even in its name—according to one version, it comes from the word "kupyets" (merchant). Another version links the name to "kupy" (peat bogs), which once covered the area.
