The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers, together with Ukraїner, continues to publish a selection of important events captured by Ukrainian photographers in November 2024. This month, Ukrainian photographers took their cameras to the front lines in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, filmed farewells to fallen soldiers, shelling of cities by the enemy army, and much more.

Here are 10 important photos of November:

1. A soldier of the 3rd separate assault brigade wounded in action in a field hospital in the Kharkiv region. November 2024.  “During these few days at the hospital, I kept thinking that they might bring someone I knew. I tried to take pictures of the wounded on the table as if they were my friend,” describes her feelings Liza Bukreeva, the author of the photo.

4. Servicemen of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine carry a Black Fury kamikaze drone that attacks targets in Russia. That evening, 35 similar UAVs were launched at various targets in Russia. The author of the photo adds that on the tail of one of the drones that took off that evening was written “For Ilya” in memory of the 14-year-old son of one of the DIU team members who was killed by a Russian missile strike this summer. The author of the photo writes: “On the day of the shooting, some of the soldiers were driving a tank for the first time after the basic military training, so we didn't sit on top, but stood next to them and took pictures of the tanks against the scenery.” November 2024.
