Oleksandr Serhiienko

Serhiienko Oleksandr was born in 1985 in the city of Donetsk, lives and works in the city of Kyiv, Ukraine. He became interested in photography during his school years, when he got his hands on a film camera “Kyiv 19M”.

As an art photographer, I present my own vision of the surrounding world on the border between real and fictional. I create the vast majority of my works in the studio, using the necessary props, harmoniously combining colors and technical skill in working with light. Of course, photo editing programs are an indispensable tool in my work, which help me achieve the desired final result.

My works are metaphorical and somewhat surreal. I am interested in creating new unexplored worlds, materializing these fantasies in pictures and producing new experiences for the viewer. I mainly work in the genres of still life and nude photography. I use different compositional solutions in combination with poetic images arising in my imagination.

As an artist, I strive to create works that immerse the viewer in a fictional, but at the same time real world of fantasy, familiar images and emotions. I want to provoke the viewer to think and raise their spirits.
