Valentyn Kuzan

Valentyn Kuzan is a portrait photographer, currently working as a photojournalist for the public relations service of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Cossacks.
Valentyn developed a love for photography when he was a teenager. He begged his father for a camera so he could shoot something himself. His first baptism of fire, i.e. commercial photography, was a wedding that a 10th grader with no experience had to shoot because his father mistakenly booked two events on the same date.

Before the full-scale Russian invasion, he had a large photo project called Cultprocess, in which he photographed Ukrainian artists and made portraits of Holodomor survivors for Ukraїner. Kuzan also took portraits on request. With the beginning of the invasion, he went to film the war - he was a member of a group that photographed Ukrainian soldiers on the front line for the social media of the Strategic Communications Department of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, joined the project "Stiletto or Stylos" by the online edition Ukraїner and the Center for Liberation Movement Studies about Ukrainian artists, intellectuals, and people of different professions who joined the ranks of the Armed Forces, and made stories about scientific institutions destroyed by the occupiers for the Kunsht magazine.

He participated in two revolutions: The Orange Revolution in 2004 and the Revolution of Dignity in 2013.
