A number of exhibitions “Hunger as a Weapon” were implemented by the Lithuanian Center for Research on Genocide and Resistance and the Museum of Occupation of Latvia in partnership with the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP).

An integral part of the exposition were photographs of the war and its consequences in Ukraine, taken by Ukrainian documentarians, in particular UAPP participants. The exhibition aimed to draw attention to the devastating impact of hunger as a weapon of war and oppression in the country. The photographs on display document the consequences of military invasion, hunger and lack of food security for the Ukrainian people throughout history.

The exhibitions also highlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, which has been exacerbated by the ongoing conflict in the country.

The opening was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine and various diplomatic organizations. The exhibition sparked important discussions about the role of hunger in inciting the conflict and the urgent need for humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. The exhibitions served as a powerful reminder of the devastating effects of using hunger as a weapon and the importance of addressing this problem to establish peace and stability in the country.
