Kharkiv: attacks on a hospital and residential areas
Photo documentary filmmakers Ivan Samoilov and Heorhiy Ivanchenko documented the consequences of Russian attacks on a medical facility in Kharkiv. On the night of February 28, the enemy struck civilian infrastructure with drones, causing large-scale fires.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that 64 people were evacuated as a result of the attack, including 56 patients of the medical facility and a child. In addition, residential buildings, a car dealership and a hypermarket were damaged. The blast wave smashed windows and destroyed building structures. A total of nine Shahed drones struck the city on the night of March 1. The number of victims increased to seven.

The mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov, confirmed that one of the drones hit the hospital directly, where patients and medical staff were at the time.
Ihor Terekhov summarized that in February 2025 alone, Russia shelled Kharkiv 21 times.

“Unfortunately, there were some human tragedies. In February, there were wounded, including children, and one woman was killed. In general, during the month, the enemy most often attacked us at night, when people are always at home,” said Terekhov.

Zaporizhzhia: destroyed houses and dozens of victims
Photo documentary filmmaker Kateryna Klochko captured the aftermath of the attack on a residential building in Zaporizhzhia on March 1. A Russian kamikaze drone hit a high-rise building, causing a fire over an area of 300 square meters. Rescuers evacuated the residents and medics treated the wounded. A 31-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to the Zaporizhzhia Military Administration, the enemy conducted 458 attacks in the region over the past day, using aircraft, artillery and kamikaze drones. 12 settlements came under fire, including Gulyaypole, Pyatikhatky, Zaliznychne and Novoandriivka. The blast waves damaged dozens of houses, leaving people homeless.

Russian terror continues
Every week, Russia continues to strike civilian targets in Ukraine in an attempt to break the resistance of Ukrainians. The scale of the destruction and the number of casualties are growing, leaving thousands of families homeless and cities under the threat of new attacks. Ukrainian photojournalists are documenting the consequences of these crimes so that the world can see and remember the price Ukraine is paying for its existence.
