According to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, several explosions were heard in the city. “The occupiers insidiously attacked the places where hundreds of Kharkiv residents visit every day in broad daylight. This is real terrorism,” said the head of the OVA.

Syniehubov also noted that the operation to clear the rubble in the sports complex where one of the missile hits took place is underway: “There may still be people under the rubble, so search and rescue operations continue. One man, who works there as an electrician, was trapped in the rubble. He is now safe. At least 6 air strikes were recorded near the sports complex, some of which hit the ground.”

Mayor Igor Terekhov noted that as of 5:38 p.m., there was information about 44 victims. “Seven of them are children, the youngest of them is three months old,” he added.

Terekhov noted that 22 people were injured as a result of the strike on Saltovka district, including two children and two doctors. An ambulance was on its way to the site of the missile strike, and the doctors did not even have time to help the wounded because they themselves came under fire.

“The crew immediately set off, they stopped in front of the shopping center. And then there was a second hit, a hit nearby, the car was damaged by the shrapnel. The doctor got a head injury, the paramedic got a shin fracture caused by a piece of shrapnel. Fortunately, the driver was not injured. The paramedic's condition is stable, he is not in danger, and he has been operated on. The doctor has not yet regained consciousness,” said Viktor Zabashta, head of the Emergency Medical Center.

The head of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, Oleksandr Filchakov, said that, according to preliminary information, the occupiers attacked Kharkiv with Iskander-M missiles.

“Investigators and prosecutors during the inspection of the scene found and seized debris from a missile that hit a few meters from the entrance to the Target hypermarket in Saltivsky district today. These are metal fragments of a characteristic green color, which is the color typical of Iskander-M missiles,” the prosecutor said.
