"The past year has brought one tragedy after another, with unimaginable loss of life: the war in Ukraine and the war between Israel and Hamas; devastating earthquakes in Afghanistan, Morocco, Syria, and Turkey; and here in the United States, a fast-moving and devastating wildfire on the island of Maui and a record number of mass shootings across the country.
Time and time again, we see scenes of pain and suffering that we know so well: parents mourning children, children mourning parents - and worse, children mourning children," adds Bernadette Toison, Director of Photography, CNN Digital.

The material was worked on:
Researcher of the topic, author of the text: Vira Labych
Bildeditor: Vyacheslav Ratynskyi
Literary Editor: Julia Futei
Site Manager: Vladislav Kuhar
