On January 16-18, 2024, PinchukArtCentre together with the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers held the Deciding Your Tomorrow project on the occasion of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

“Deciding Your Impossibility” is a visual and intellectual experience that immerses you in the atmosphere of life during the wedding, as well as a space for discussion and debate.

On the ground floor, an interactive exhibition — the main photos of 693 days of the war in Ukraine — was placed on large screens as of Wednesday, January 17. From time to time, air alarm sirens are triggered on the screens.

The pavilion displayed a map of “Russian War Crimes” (Russian War Crimes), as well as three screens showing TikTok videos shot by Ukrainian bloggers about how people who are under constant threat dare to live their own lives, finding joy, love and moments of happiness.

This experience was complemented by a three-day discussion program that brought together world political leaders, thinkers and activists to discuss key aspects of protecting the life and freedom of Ukrainians.

At the opening of the exhibition, speeches were made by Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland, Viktor Pinchuk, founder of the EastOne Group and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Oleksandra Mezhev, an 8-year-old child deported from Mariupol, and Oleksandr Batalov, a military medic of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The opening of the exhibition was moderated by Bjorn Geldhof, Art Director of PinchukArtCentre.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also visited the exhibition and held a bilateral meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda on the margins of the Deciding your Tomorrow project.

The Ukrainian house in Davos with the exhibition Deciding Your Tomorrow became the best pavilion during the World Economic Forum according to Politico.
