In Odessa on the morning of March 15, a series of explosions occurred. The air force reported ballistic missile launches from the territory of the occupied Crimea. Russian troops twice struck civilian infrastructure, where medics and rescuers had already come to help after the first explosion.
As of 19:00 the State Emergency Service reported that the death toll from Russian rocket fire had risen to 20 people.
Head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration Oleg Kiper noted that among the dead were local residents, a medic and a rescuer. Those affected are provided with all necessary assistance.
“All relevant services eliminate the consequences of an enemy attack. Law enforcement officers record another crime of Russians,” he wrote.
Mayor of Odessa Gennadiy Trukhanov said that among the dead was his former first deputy Serhiy Tetyukhin. Also, as a result of the shelling of Odessa, the former head of the patrol police of the Odessa region Alexander Gostishchev, the chairman of the Odessa district council Vitaly Barvinenko and the deputy of the city council Andrey Vagapov died.
The missile strike also damaged 10 private houses, a service station, a gas pipeline and two fire and rescue vehicles.
In the evening address, the President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the Defense Forces “will do everything possible to make the Russian killers feel our just reaction.”
Meanwhile, more than 200 Odessa residents and guests of the city donated blood for the victims, about a hundred more people are queuing at reception points. Mourning will be announced tomorrow in Odessa and the region.
Recall that on March 2, the army of the Russian Federation attacked Odessa region with attack drones, which it launched from the waters of the Black Sea. One of the “shaheds” hit a nine-story building in the sleeping area of Odessa. Then 12 people were killed, including five children..
