On 21 November, Ukraine marks the 10th anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity. The country also marks the annual Day of Dignity and Freedom. It was established by presidential decree on 13 November 2014 to mark the beginning of two significant events in Ukraine's modern history - the 2004 Orange Revolution and the 2013 Revolution of Dignity.

The Day of Dignity and Freedom can be seen as a follower of Freedom Day, which was celebrated on 22 November from 2005 to 2011 in honor of the Orange Revolution, but was canceled, reports Ukrinform.

Today, the Heavenly Hundred memorial in Kyiv is not crowded. Traditionally, it is the families of the victims who come.

It was on 21 November 2013 that the first protests of the Ukrainians took place in response to the decision of the former government to stop the course towards European integration and to cancel the process of preparation for the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.

However, unlike the events of the Orange Revolution, this time the defense of dignity and freedom cost the lives of many Ukrainian patriots: 106 people were killed and more than 2,000 were injured. In the spring of 2014, Russia's armed aggression began, accompanied by the occupation of Crimea and certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
