Russians strike at the historic center of lviv. How the city is recovering from the night attack

On the night of September 4, Russian troops attacked Lviv with drones and missiles. Children are among the victims. The Russians attacked the historic part of Lviv. Two districts came under attack - Frankivskyi and Zaliznychnyi.

The death toll from the enemy attack on Lviv has risen to seven. A family was killed in their own home by shelling: a woman and three daughters. Only the father Yaroslav survived. His wife, Yevheniya, and their three daughters, Yaryna, Daryna, and Emilia, were killed in their own home.

“In the center of Europe, Russia is exterminating entire families of Ukrainians. Russians are killing our children, our future. I don't know what words to use to support Yaroslav's father. Today we are all with you. My sincere condolences and blessed memory,” Mayor Andriy Sadovyi wrote.

Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the OVA, said that 47 people who suffered from the night attack are being treated in three medical facilities in Lviv.

“There are seven children among the patients, all of whom have moderate injuries. Among the adults, at least 7 are in serious condition. Doctors are fighting for their lives. Data on patients is constantly updated,” he added. Currently, according to the head of the JMA, search and rescue operations at the sites of the hits in Lviv are ongoing. “There may still be people under the rubble,” stated Kozytskyi.

At least seven local architectural monuments were damaged in a night attack in Lviv. “All the buildings are located in the historical area and the UNESCO buffer zone. They are listed in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine,” said Kozitsky.

Missile fragments were also found on the territory of Lviv International Airport. Two schools, medical facilities and more than 50 houses were also damaged in Lviv.

The Security Service of Ukraine in Lviv region has classified another massive Russian shelling of the city's civilian infrastructure as a war crime. Investigators of the special service opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code (violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder).

On September 1, Russian troops attacked three locations in Kharkiv more than 10 times. A supermarket was on fire, doctors were among the wounded, and people were trapped under the rubble. The Russians hit the city with Iskander-M missiles.
