The "Documentary Photographers on the Frontline: the Support of Ukrainian Photographers and Their Projects" project is an important step in supporting Ukrainian documentary photographers who risk their lives to tell the truth about the military conflict in Ukraine. The UAPP will contribute to the development of this important profession and broaden the world's understanding of the situation in Ukraine by providing funding, training and security support.

UAPP will provide training for project participants on how to behave in high-risk situations, including mine safety and first aid. This training will be developed with safety experts to teach photographers how to work effectively in the field while minimising life risk.

There will also be 10 sub-grants of $1,000 each for warzone expeditions to create their own photo project (at least 10 photos).
