A large-scale fire, a column of black smoke over the city and the bodies of the murdered Kharkov residents in the parking lot are the consequences of another crime of Russians against civilians. Today, May 25, at 16:02, Russian troops shelled the hypermarket “Epicentrum” in Kharkiv with the Cabas. The number of dead and wounded is increasing every hour.
More than 200 people were in the building at the time of the attack, at least 11 of them are currently unconnected, and the deaths of four people have been confirmed. As of 20:34 the number of injured — 40 people, the mayor of Kharkiv clarified Igor Terekhov.Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Synegubov noticed that the dead were men who worked in the hypermarket.
Administration of the shopping center said that after the air alarm was declared, staff did everything possible to evacuate visitors and employees as soon as possible. However, two strikes on the central part of the building occurred within minutes of the danger signal.
Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office noted that the Russian army hit the city with two UMPS D30-SN. Strikes were launched from the territory of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. “Rescue work continues. Prosecutors and police investigators work on the spot with the aim of fixing the war crime. Criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 438 Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the prosecutor's office noted.
If Ukraine had enough air defense and modern combat aircraft, such Russian strikes would be simply impossible, he believes president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. He reacted to another brutal attack on Kharkov. “As of now, it is known that there could be more than 200 people in the hypermarket. All services are already on the ground providing assistance — rescuing people and eliminating the fire, which completely covered the premises, 10 thousand square meters,” Zelensky said.
The administration of the hypermarket noted that the objects of the Epicenter network, which provide the population with all the necessary goods, were not attacked by the invaders for the first time. Earlier, the Russian army completely destroyed six shopping centers of the company in Mariupol, Chernihiv, Bucha, Kharkiv, Kherson and Nikopol. Another part of the network facilities stopped working due to active hostilities, constant shelling and seizure of Ukrainian territories by occupation forces.
Late in the evening, at 19:10, another explosion was heard in Kharkiv. The Russians struck the central area of the city with dense residential development. Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov reported 11 wounded.
Recall, on May 23, Russian troops shelled Kharkiv ten times. The target of the enemy was the printing house and transport infrastructure. The bodies of the dead among the burned books. The consequences of the Russian attack on the printing house in Kharkiv in the photos of Alexander Magula
