Kateryna Moskalyuk is a member of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers, photojournalist, documentary photographer, works published in particular by Bloomberg Businessweek, Die Zeit, The Ukrainians, Ukraіner, Evacuation.City, Ban, Kunst, Forbes Ukraine and were presented at international exhibitions in Ukraine, UK, USA, Poland, Germany, Armenia, Japan and Hong Kong.
Prior to the full-scale invasion, her work focused on creating texts and photo reports that covered the lives of families raising children with disabilities, supported living facilities, the lives of the visually impaired, and other socially sensitive topics.
Now Katya devotes herself to documenting life in Ukraine, in particular in the project "Alone" about women whose husbands died in wars. Shooting participants in different cities of Ukraine, the photographer seeks to show that the war affects many, regardless of their place of residence.
“I started taking pictures on the second day — February 25th. She grabbed the camera and went outside. The camera was a salvation from what was happening. I filmed the work of volunteers at the railway station in Lviv, later in temporary shelters for displaced people. Since many people perceive information through pictures, it was very important for me to convey to the world what I saw,” Katya shares.
