Two strikes. Consequences of the rocket attack on Pokrovsk in the photos of Viacheslav Ratynskyi
On the evening of August 7, 2023, the Russian army launched two missile strikes on the center of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. As a result of the attack, multi-storey residential buildings were destroyed, 88 people were injured and 10 were killed.

On the night of July 23, 2023, the Russian army launched another missile strike on Odessa. As a result of the impact, the Transfiguration Cathedral and a number of architectural monuments in the city center were partially destroyed. More than 20 people were injured and two were killed.

“The biggest attack on Lviv”. Yurko Dyachyshyn's memories of the missile attack on his hometown
On the night of July 6, 2023, Russian troops launched another missile strike on Lviv. They launched cruise missiles “Caliber” from the waters of the Black Sea. Ten people were killed and 42 others were injured. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi noted that this was the largest attack on the city's civilian infrastructure since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

The explosion during the farewell. The aftermath of the missile attack on Pervomaisk in the photos of Oleksandr Magula
On July 4, 2023, the Russian army struck the city center of Pervomaisky, Kharkiv region. According to the prosecutor's office of Ukraine, the Russian military launched an Iskander missile at a residential quarter of the city. Several high-rise buildings were damaged, 43 people were injured, including 12 children. The explosion occurred during a farewell ceremony with Ukrainian intelligence commander Oleg Fadeenko.

On June 27, 2023, a Russian ballistic missile “Iskander” hit the cafe “Ria Pizza” in the city of Kramatorsk. The pizzeria was a popular meeting place for local youth, volunteers, journalists and military who were stationed nearby or returning from scratch. The city of Kramatorsk is located less than an hour's drive to the front line, but in the pizzeria “Ria Pizza” you could briefly feel the comfort of a peaceful life.

Flooded and shelled Kherson: the aftermath of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station explosion in the photographs of Mstyslav Chernov, Danylo Pavlov, and Kostiantyn and Vlada Liberov
On June 6, 2023, around three o'clock, the Russian military blew up the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant in the Kherson region. It was the fifth largest hydroelectric power plant in Ukraine. By destroying it, the Russian invaders caused the largest man-made disaster on our continent since the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Microgrant and Mentorship Program to Support Ukrainian Photographers
The program includes four mentorship courses and a final competition for participants. After that, we will provide financial support of €8,000 to Ukrainian photographers who create projects related to the theme of war. First and foremost, we will support authors who do not have regular access to equipment and resources, giving them additional opportunities to continue their work.

"SMS from Mariupol"
The Ukrainian Atelier of Culture and Sports, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP) and the Innovation Fund in Arts of the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts of Baden-Württemberg, presented a series of exhibition projects that served as a photo diary from occupied Mariupol. These projects were exhibited in Stuttgart and Dresden, Germany.

The photobook "Independent. The Story of Modern Ukraine in the Photographs of the Best Documentarians."
The photobook, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, was published with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Book Institute. It contains more than 140 unique documentary photographs from over 60 Ukrainian photographers, arranged chronologically from the proclamation of Ukraine's independence to the present day.

Manipulations in the media can occur even without the pressure of censors. The flow of images is everywhere; it defines trends and tastes and influences changes in political regimes. The media constructs reality and has the power to shape the course of history.

On October 5, 2023, the Russian military struck a cafe in the village of Hroza in the Kharkiv region with an Iskander missile. The café was hosting a memorial dinner, which was attended by many villagers. The strike killed 59 people, including an eight-year-old child.

On August 31, 2015, police and activists who opposed the adoption of constitutional amendments on decentralization of power clashed near the Verkhovna Rada in Kyiv. More than a hundred people were injured, and four members of the National Guard were killed.

Yevhen Borysovskyi, a new member of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers, embodies two roles: serviceman and photographer. Appointed as the head of the communications department of the 148th Separate Artillery Brigade in Zhytomyr, he never planned to pursue a career in either the military or photography, but life and war had other plans.
