What did the international press publish? A selection of photos by members of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers
Photos of members of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers in the international press: February and March selection. UAPP is proud of the Ukrainian documentary photographers whose photos represent Ukraine in the international media and once again draw attention to the Russian-Ukrainian war. That is why the association is launching a monthly column on photos of Ukrainian documentary filmmakers that have traveled the world.

The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers together with Danylo Poliluyev-Schmidt continue to cover events in Ukraine at the international level. Danylo held a seminar “Armed truth — images of Ukrainian media” within the StudiumPlus program, where the exhibition “Armed truth - 10 years of the Revolution of Dignity and Euromaidan in Ukraine” was also presented.

Wounded Kharkiv is a city in the eyes of those who document the consequences of Russian attacks for Ukrainian and world media
Burned houses and cars, smashed windows, blood stains on the asphalt, dead bodies covered on the ground — wounds on the body of the city. From every shelling, “arrival” or other consequences of Russian attacks, people suffer, and with them their property acquired during their lifetime. Favorite places disappear, historical architecture collapses, high-rise buildings become abandoned haunted houses, and the panorama of the city loses its usual appearance.

This morning, June 24, there were explosions in Odessa. The Russians launched two missiles, probably the Iskander-K. One of them did not achieve the goal thanks to the work of air defense.

Russians shelled a school, an industrial zone and a private sector in Kharkiv. The consequences of the enemy attack on the photos of Yevgeny Gartner
Kharkiv is again under enemy attack. Russian troops fired at least three guided aerial bombs on the Ukrainian city. 10 people were injured, 1 person was killed as a result of the attack of the Russians on civilian objects in the Shevchenko and Kholodnogorsky districts of Kharkiv. This was announced by the head of the OVA Oleg Synegubov. Among the victims are two teenagers aged 15 and 16. It is also known that two are in serious condition, another person received moderate injuries.

Exhibition "Spalah. Ukrainian photography today"
On September 29, at the Ukrainian House in Kyiv, the opening of the photo exhibition "Spalah. Ukrainian Photography Today" took place. The project was implemented by the National Center "Ukrainian House" and the NGO "Platform for Cultural Initiatives" in cooperation with the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers and with the support of the Press, Education, and Culture Department of the US Embassy in Ukraine.

The exhibition "The Siege of Mariupol - The last journalists in the occupied city"
As part of this year's Czech Photo Festival, on October 12, an exhibition titled "The Siege of Mariupol - The Last Journalists in the Occupied City" was opened at the Czech Photo Center Gallery in Prague. The exhibition features world-renowned works by Mstislav Chernov and Yevhen Maloletka. The project was realized by the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP) in cooperation with Czech Photo and the Association of Professional Photographers of the Czech Republic (APF).

«Bojují i za nás»
A large-scale exhibition of the members of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers entitled "They are fighting for us too" was organized in the Czech Republic, Belgium and the United States. The exhibition features more than 200 photographs documenting the vivid evidence of Russia's aggression and genocide, the lives of ordinary people in the war, and the brave struggle of our people not only for their own freedom but also for the freedom of the entire world.

Photo book "Brave to bring the light"
The photo book Brave to Bring the Light, about the most difficult winter in the history of independent Ukraine so far, includes photographs by more than 30 Ukrainian authors who documented the energy crisis caused by the Russian military's attack on Ukrainian infrastructure facilities during the fall of 2022, winter and spring of 2023.

The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPF) in cooperation with the Bereznitsky Art Foundation organized a charity exhibition "Ukrainian Guernica", which was opened at the Factory Gallery, Tbilisi. The project was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.

“To give a voice to those who could not speak out during their lifetime.” Lesia Marushchak about the world's most famous exhibition about the Holodomor
Project MARIA by Canadian artist of Ukrainian descent Lesia Maruschak became the most famous exhibition about the Holodomor of 1932-1933, according to the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide in Kyiv. This artwork has traveled to nine countries, and the book based on the project has won international awards. The exhibition provides an opportunity to look at the memory of the Holodomor through art, which makes a complex topic accessible and understandable on many levels.

On the anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity, the UAPF recalls how Odesa became part of the struggle for Ukraine's independence. The city, which is often called the pearl by the sea, was then on the verge of a transition between a European pro-Ukrainian future and a Russian past. In this article, we describe how Odessans fought for their freedom, and supplement the text with photographs by documentary filmmaker Oleksandr Himanov, who witnessed these events.

On November 21, Ukraine marks the Day of Dignity and Freedom, commemorating the anniversaries of two significant events - the Orange Revolution of 2004 and the Revolution of Dignity of 2013-2014. These events have become symbols of Ukrainians' aspirations for democracy, freedom and European values. Today, during the full-scale war with Russia, the struggle for these ideals continues.

Penetration of bugs into your personal space and how to learn to coexist with it. New UAPF member Olga Koval about her projects and plans
Olha Koval is a new member of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers who attracts the attention of the art community with her original approach to contemporary issues. Her project “Eruption” took second place in the competition of the Mykolaiv School of Photography “MYPH” and resonated with the audience and critics. She created more than 40 thousand red-winged beetles, sculpting and painting them by hand.
