The battles for Karachun and Savur Mohyla, or Where the fighting for Donbas began. Hot summer 2014 in the lens of Oleksandr Klymenko
On April 13, 2014, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine began a large-scale anti-terrorist operation, which eventually turned into a war against the Russian army. The battles for Karachun and the battles for Savur-Mohyla went down in history as one of the bloodiest battles in Donbas at the beginning of the ATO.

Wounded children, frightened adults, white medical robes covered in blood — these are the consequences of another Russian combined attack against Ukrainians. In the morning of July 8, Russian troops launched a rocket attack on Kiev, the largest children's hospital in Ukraine “Okhmatdyt” came under enemy attack.

About 10 explosions in Dnipro: the consequences of the Russian combined attack in the lens of Nikolay Sinelnikov
On Wednesday morning, July 3, the Russians carried out a combined attack on the Dnieper. There were about 10 explosions in the city. At approximately 8:45 a.m., the Air Force of the Armed Forces reported the movement of enemy drones in the direction of the Dnieper. In a few minutes, missiles flew in the direction of the city.

“Employees were unloading parcels.” The aftermath of the Russian air strike on “Nova Poshta” in Kharkiv in the photo of Yakov Lyashenko and Olga Kovalyova
On June 30, around 16:30 Russian troops again launched an air strike on Kharkov. The CAB flew about 80 kilometers and hit a few meters from the premises of “Nova Poshta” in the Slobidsky district of the city.

“Hungry. Exhausted. Happy.” Photographers Konstantin and Vlada Liberov showed in what condition Ukrainians are returning from Russian captivity
On June 25, another 90 Ukrainians returned home from Russian captivity: 32 National Guardsmen, 18 border guards, 17 representatives of the Navy, 15 soldiers of the Armed Forces, 8 terrorists. Among them — 59 defenders of Mariupol, 52 of whom left Azovstal. Also, 5 fighters of the NGU, who at the beginning of the invasion guarded the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, set foot on their native land.

The exhibition project presents the richness of Ukrainian photography over five decades. It begins in the 70s, at a time when Ukrainian visual art began to publicly express its own language, and ends with the war that is currently engulfing the country. "Ukraine - The Path to Freedom" visualizes key events in the history of Ukraine and examines the development of photography during this period.

A number of exhibition projects to mark the anniversary of the Holodomor
On the occasion of the Holodomor Remembrance Day, the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers in cooperation with the Center for Austrian-Ukrainian Cultural Studies, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Austria, the Ukrainian Student Society "Sich" in Graz and the Ukrainian Research and Education Center for Holodomor Studies (HREC) created a documentary exhibition "The Holodomor and War. Ukraine in 1932-1933 and 2022".

«UNABHÄNGIGKEIT! Fotografien aus der Ukraine 1991–2022»
The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP) in cooperation with the Museum of Modern History in Germany opened a major exhibition project "INDEPENDENCE! Photographs of Ukraine 1991-2022". The works presented at the exhibition show that the outbreak of war in 2022 is not the beginning, but a dramatic escalation of the long-standing conflict between the two states.

Life after deportation and before the occupation. Crimean Tatars by Gennadiy Minchenko
On May 18, Ukraine honors the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatars. 80 years ago at 3:00am on May 18, 1944, the Soviet authorities began the evacuation of all Crimean Tatars from their native peninsula. At that time, about 200,000 people were forcibly taken out in goods wagons. Almost half died on the road or in the first years after deportation.

Alone. Kateryna Moskaliuk's project about the wives of fallen soldiers
The photo project “Alone” is the stories of women from all over Ukraine, whose husbands died during the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war. Odessa, Lviv, Kiev, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Starokostyantyniv or small towns and villages — the pain has no definite location. Photographer Ekaterina Moskalyuk took portraits of the wives of dead servicemen, things that they keep in memory of their husbands, and also photographed friends and close women who help them search for new meanings in life.
