“Foreign mercenaries” in Kursk region: how Russian propaganda is trying to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Since the beginning of the military operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kursk region, Russian propaganda telegram channels and media have been actively spreading narratives about “foreign mercenaries” fighting in Kursk region. To confirm their narratives, they used photos belonging to the Forward Observations Group account on the social network Instagram.

On September 15, Sunday, Russian troops hit a high-rise building in Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs. The fire spread over four floors. The attack left 41 people wounded, including four children.

A year ago, Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, was in a relatively safe rear area, where IDPs from frontline settlements were arriving. The city was provided with communications, shops and banks were open, and residents felt relatively safe. However, over the past six months, the situation has changed dramatically.

Combining art and sport: Yuriy Makalis about the photo book “Velorukh” and cycling
Yuriy Makalis is a Ukrainian photographer and cyclist, as well as a member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He combines photography with military service, continuing to work on cycling-related projects even during the war. Recently, together with cycling activist, volunteer, and IT entrepreneur Maria Shevchenko, Yurii co-authored the first Ukrainian photo book about the phenomenon of cycling, Velorukh, which covers the history, present, and outstanding moments of Ukrainian cycling.

With the support of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP), an exhibition by Ukrainian photographer Ihor Chekachkov took place. His images have been published by Forbes, National Geographic, The Guardian, Le Monde, and other international media. NA4JOPM8 is a series of photographs that unites images of fragments of reality from various spheres, ranging from protest events on Maidan in Kharkiv to intimate scenes from private life.

"Those Who Are Alone."
The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP) partnered with Chekachkov Photo Academy to hold a competition for the best visual diary created during quarantine. The result was a group online exhibition titled "Those Who Are Alone," featuring the best photographs taken as part of the competition initiated by Chekachkov Photo Academy.

Virtual Gallery: Unbreakable. Chronicles of War in Ukraine
In this project, we explore the chronicles of war in Ukraine, witnessed by dozens of Ukrainian photographers. Their photographs have helped create a unique artistic space that will mark the beginning of a new era in Ukraine's history and present it to the world. The virtual gallery features both well-known images that have become part of global history and those that have yet to be published. Each photograph symbolizes the struggle, unity, and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

Exhibition "Ukraine now: darkness vs light. Children dream about peace"
The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP) in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of India implemented an exhibition titled "Ukraine Now: Darkness vs Light. Children Dream about Peace", which opened on April 14, 2022. The Polish Institute in India, the Pharmaceutical Company "Kusum", and representatives of the Ukrainian community in India served as partners and partial sponsors for the exhibition.

Life after deportation and before the occupation. Crimean Tatars by Gennadiy Minchenko
On May 18, Ukraine honors the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatars. 80 years ago at 3:00am on May 18, 1944, the Soviet authorities began the evacuation of all Crimean Tatars from their native peninsula. At that time, about 200,000 people were forcibly taken out in goods wagons. Almost half died on the road or in the first years after deportation.

Alone. Kateryna Moskaliuk's project about the wives of fallen soldiers
The photo project “Alone” is the stories of women from all over Ukraine, whose husbands died during the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war. Odessa, Lviv, Kiev, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Starokostyantyniv or small towns and villages — the pain has no definite location. Photographer Ekaterina Moskalyuk took portraits of the wives of dead servicemen, things that they keep in memory of their husbands, and also photographed friends and close women who help them search for new meanings in life.
