Plush toys and broken sunflowers. Downed plane of Amsterdam-Kuala Lumpur flight in photos by Mstislav Chernov
On July 17, 2014, a passenger plane “Boeing 777” of flight MH17 Amsterdam-Kuala Lumpur was shot down in Eastern Ukraine. All passengers and crew died — 298 people. In terms of the number of victims, the plane crash became the largest in the history of Ukraine.

June 9 — the second anniversary of the death of activist and soldier Roman Ratushny. He was remembered as a defender of Protasovy Yar, who fought against illegal buildings. He was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity and the protests at Bankovaya. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Roman Ratushny became a volunteer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a scout of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade “Kholodnyy Yar”.

It was presented on May 14, 2022, at the Gutleut gallery in Mainz, Germany. The Kyiv Photography School and the National Society of Photo Artists of Ukraine also joined the organization of the exhibition.

The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP), in collaboration with the Ukrainian Student Society "Sich" and the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Graz, have realized a series of photo exhibitions titled "Moments Among the Ruins. Documentary Photographs from Ukraine. People at War." These exhibitions are dedicated to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The displays were presented at the premises of the University of Graz named after Karl-Franz and the Technical University of Graz.

The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP), in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Cyprus, organized a series of exhibitions titled "Tragedy of the 21st century in the centre of Europe", which took place in the cities of Nicosia, Sotira, and Larnaca. The events were charitable, and visitors had the opportunity to donate to the Journalism Emergency Fund, which supports journalists and photographers.

Kupiansk, once known as an important trade hub, has today become a symbol of resistance and destruction. Historically, the city was closely linked to trade, a connection reflected even in its name—according to one version, it comes from the word "kupyets" (merchant). Another version links the name to "kupy" (peat bogs), which once covered the area.
