The night of November 17 was the culmination of a week of Russian terror: the Russian army fired 120 missiles and 90 attack drones at Ukraine. This attack ended a week of large-scale shelling, during which the occupiers used nearly 140 missiles, 900 bombs, and 600 drones to strike peaceful Ukrainian cities.

WIKI loves Earth
In 2014, the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP) became a partner of the international photo contest Wiki Loves Earth. "Wiki Loves Earth" is a photo competition dedicated to Ukraine's natural monuments. The main objective of the contest is to create as comprehensive a database of photographs of natural landmarks and objects of the nature reserve fund in Ukraine as possible under a free license for illustrating Wikipedia and other projects.

"Peeping through the windows"
The aim of the project is to draw society's and authorities' attention to the problem of the decline of valuable buildings and to promote the work of Ukrainian photographers and the history of Ukrainian photography. Using the empty windows of an abandoned building as frames for photographs is a synthesis of photography and architecture. They enrich each other with new meanings and seem to speak to the observer: "conscious effort to preserve history is necessary in all areas of our nation's cult"

“In many houses, the lights are no longer turned on - entire families died there.” The tragedy in the village of Hroza in the photos of Yakiv Lyashenko
On October 5, 2023, the Russian military struck a cafe in the village of Hroza in the Kharkiv region with an Iskander missile. The café was hosting a memorial dinner, which was attended by many villagers. The strike killed 59 people, including an eight-year-old child.

Appointed as the head of the communications department of the 148th Separate Artillery Brigade in Zhytomyr, he never planned to pursue a career in either the military or photography, but life and war had other plans.
