We asked Karina about her work and projects, about what remains behind the scenes — her emotions, experiences and how she gives them advice through the lens of her camera.

After the rescuers arrived, the Russians struck again: the aftermath of the drone attack on Kharkiv, as photographed by Yakiv Lyashenko and Heorhiy Ivanchenko
Russian troops hit the civilian infrastructure of Kharkov. There are wounded and dead as a result of the shelling. The air force warned about the launch of Shahed kamikaze drones at 00:20. At 01:05 there was an explosion in Kharkiv. Over time, the city shuddered from several more explosions.

Russian air bombs hit Kharkiv: the consequences of terror in the photos of Ukrainian documentary filmmakers
On Wednesday, March 27, two powerful explosions were heard in the afternoon during the air alarm in Kharkiv. For the first time since 2022, Russian troops attacked a residential area of the city with air bombs. 19 people were affected, among them a girl born in 2022 and a boy born in 2023. One civilian woman was killed, who was on the street at the time of the “arrival”. 14 apartment buildings were damaged.

Numerous explosions thundered through the center of Kiev on Monday, March 25, about 30 seconds after the air alarm sirens went off. Russian troops attacked the capital of Ukraine with two ballistic missiles, they managed to shoot them down.

Blackout in Kharkov, two killed in Khmelnytskyi, three in Zaporizhia, emergency power outages in most regions of Ukraine, attacks on Dnipro hydroelectric power plant, and dozens of destroyed buildings and burned cars - such are the consequences of a night attack by Russians on Ukrainian energy, which became the largest more in 2024.

The American Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences has announced the long-awaited list of Oscar-nominated films. The film “20 Days in Mariupol” by Ukrainian director, documentary filmmaker, founder of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers Mstislav Chernov was nominated in the category Documentary feature film — “Best Documentary Film”.

The photo exhibition was created in cooperation with the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP), FRONTLINE PBS and the Associated Press. WIKI loves Earth
In 2014, the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP) became a partner of the international photo contest Wiki Loves Earth. "Wiki Loves Earth" is a photo competition dedicated to Ukraine's natural monuments. The main objective of the contest is to create as comprehensive a database of photographs of natural landmarks and objects of the nature reserve fund in Ukraine as possible under a free license for illustrating Wikipedia and other projects.

The Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers (UAPP) in partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charity supported the All-Ukrainian Pajama Day, an event that annually brings together thousands of people to help children stay close to their families during treatment.

"Peeping through the windows"
The aim of the project is to draw society's and authorities' attention to the problem of the decline of valuable buildings and to promote the work of Ukrainian photographers and the history of Ukrainian photography. Using the empty windows of an abandoned building as frames for photographs is a synthesis of photography and architecture. They enrich each other with new meanings and seem to speak to the observer: "conscious effort to preserve history is necessary in all areas of our nation's cult"

HARIBAN AWARD — International Collotype Competition 2024
Премія Hariban Award, заснована компанією Benrido, поєднує 170-річну аналогову техніку з сучасною фотографією. Скляні пластини використовувалися як основа для друкарських форм для колотипного друку, що продовжується і сьогодні. Нагорода називається «Харібан», оскільки «Харі» означає скляна пластина, а «бан» - друкарська форма в японській мові.
